The Management Accounting and Purchasing Policy Division was created in 1981 after the reorganisation of the Accounts Purchasing Division. It was a component of the HM Treasury's Public Services Sector which in turn became the Accounts and Purchasing Group in 1983 under which the Division continued to operate.
