A very miscellaneous accumulation of records and objects acquired by the Public Record Office by gift, purchase, or deposit, including both documents which belong intellectually with existing record series, but which had strayed from public custody as well as private documents which usefully supplement the official record.

Included are:

• correspondence and accounts of Sir Thomas Clarke, Master of the Rolls 1754 to 1764, and an official journal of Masters of the Rolls, 1742 to 1784
• records of Doctors' Commons, 1567 to 1844
• charters of Edgar (974) and Henry II
• Duchy of Lancaster writs and various manorial records
• minutes of the Board of General Officers, 1695 to 1705
• minute and other books and papers of the Fulham Bridge Proprietors, 1726 to 1882, and of the Royal Universal Dispensary for Children, London, 1815 to 1833
• material used by John Gurwood for his edition of the Duke of Wellington's despatches and papers relating to the battle of Waterloo
• papers concerning the British occupation of Corsica, 1792 to 1796
• entry books concerning Ireland in the early 18th century
• admission books and other records of Clement's Inn, late 15th century to 1883
• accounts of chamber and household expenses of George I and George II
• papers relating to the Shanghai Volunteer Corps
• judgments of the South Sea Company Court of Record, 1727 to 1728
• letter book and papers of J M Johnson, chargé d'affaires in Brussels in 1814 and a letter book of V E H (later Sir Vincent) Corbett as second secretary at Constantinople, 1892 to 1893
