These papers consist of the correspondence of the first Earl of Chatham and of his son, William Pitt.

Bundle 373 was added in 1956. It consists of miscellaneous papers of William Pitt, which were bought at the André de Coppet sale at Sothebys on 14, 15 November 1955 and presented to the Public Record Office by the Friends of the National Libraries.
