Description

Summaries of the details found in the later King's (Queen's) Bench Prison commitment books (PRIS 4) for the period. They are smaller, more portable versions, for easy reference. Some of the books duplicate the contents of the main books exactly, others are inferior copies containing only a number of the details in the originals.

The abstracts are indexed, and contain details of the date of commitment, the debt involved, the name of the prisoner, the prosecutor's name and the date of discharge.

The prisoner's discharge date or commitment number can be used to trace records in other series.
