The Money Advice Service is a free, independent service set up by the UK Government in April 2010 to provide money advice for consumers in the UK. Prior to 2010 the service had been a division of the Financial Services Authority (FSA). The Money Advice Service is paid for by a statutory levy on the financial services industry, raised through the FSA, and has an independent chairman and board appointed by the FSA.
