Description

Folios 286-287. Letter from Sir John Carter, Hampshire magistrate, stating that the county gaoler had met with refusal from the officers of Royal Admiral at St Helens [Isle of Wight] when attempting to deliver the women who had been lodged temporarily in the County Bridewell at Gosport: Jane alias Maria Newman from Plymouth, Ann Case from Lancaster, Mary Obrien and Betty Thomas from Exeter and Ann Holloway from Winchester.
