Description

Forwards a memorial from Mr Thomas McGrath, a patient at the Colonial Hospital, with a printed pamphlet entitled 'Impediments to the Prosperity of the British West Indies caused by the crimes of the Fraudulent Clerks in the Colonial Office which they have made the Devil's Workshop...' The Medical Superintendent of the Lunatic Asylum describes McGrath as 'a garrulous old gentleman with his mental faculties impaired by senile decay' who will probably always need hospital care, but who does not need to be confined in a lunatic asylum.
