Folios 506-507. Copy of a private out-letter to [John Parr, Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia] from [Evan Nepean, Under-Secretary] stating that it would be fruitless for Parr to apply to succeed Lord Dorchester as Governor-General of the Canadas, and warning him as a friend that his reputation was suffering through his continued refusal to pay postage. Nepean recommends the bearer of the letter, Lieutenant John Clarkson, agent of the Sierra Leone Company, to Parr as a private man but not in his official capacity.
