Folios 491-492. Letter from William Chamberlayne [Treasury Solicitor] at Worcester Assizes reporting the trials before the Lord Chief Baron [Sir James Eyre] of Thomas Cooly (acquitted), Robert Cook (convicted), Mary Cox and William Rice (both acquitted), indicted for crimes committed in Worcestershire during the Birmingham riots. Although Rice had been acquitted of robbery, Chamberlayne had had him detained and transferred to Warwickshire, where there was a strong case against him. Eyre would be making a report on Cook's case for Government, in the meantime leaving him for execution. Chamberlayne would now proceed to Warwick to prepare for the trials of Warwickshire cases.
