Justices: John de Donecastre [Doncaster] and others.
Broken file, without thong or cover but probably largely complete. A note (in Latin) on the dorse of m 263 reads 'one file containing eighty writs and all the patents with panels of the counties of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire', and the file presumably relates to the entire period for which Donecastre was the principal justice, 8-16 Edward II.
This file was reconstructed from loose membranes in 2010, but the pencil numbering was seemingly added before its dispersal, and appears to preserve the original order. Membranes 1-66 relate to Derbyshire, mm 67-263 to Nottinghamshire; m 205 is currently missing.
Two small folded pieces of parchment were discovered with these loose membranes. They are un-numbered, and may have been used as an end stop on this or another file.
