Assize file, Midland Circuit (Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Rutland).

Justices: Thomas de Ingelby and John Cavendish.

Largely on thong, tied at front, with sessional tags. However, the thong is broken at the rear, and no cover or end stop survives. Some stray loose membranes have been discovered, including one further sessional tag, and these have been placed at the end of the file. Some of these membranes can be shown to belong in this file, but others may possibly be strays from the file for the previous circuit (JUST 4/4/56), and further material is almost certainly missing.

This file contains material relating to the sessions held during the first two years of Ingelby and Cavendish's circuit of 40-43 Edward III.
