Assize file, South-Western Circuit (Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire).
Justices: William de Shareshull [Shareshill], John de Stouford [Stowford] and Hamo de Derworthy.
Broken file, reconstructed from loose membranes found in various locations. The upper part of the file, containing documents for Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire, remains largely on two sections of the original thong, knotted at the top. However, relatively few documents have been discovered from the lower part of the file, covering Hampshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire, and the membranes which do survive are clearly not in their original order.

The two concurrent assize rolls for this circuit are at JUST 1/1430 and JUST 1/1434; this file would seem to relate to the latter.
