RAPIDE began on 1 September 2008 as a network of European Regions, driven by the Innovation agenda, funded by the INTERREG IVC programme. The project is focused on supporting the implementation of good practice relating to the role of the public sector in stimulating innovation in partner regions. In particular, the project aimed to help businesses, to bring innovative products and services to the market more quickly. The RAPIDE partners include Regional Development Agencies, Structural Fund Managing Authorities (MAs) and universities. The lead partner in the UK is the South West of England Regional Development Agency.
