The Digital Design and Technology website, developed as part of the Digital Design and Technology Programme, has been designed to support teachers involved with ECT (Electronics in Schools) and CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing). The site provides information about the programme, the support centre network and training opportunities, as well as providing access to a range of support material, all of which is designed to help promote, teach and support the subjects within school.
The Digital Design and Technology Programme, which is funded by the Department for Education (DfE), previously the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF), grows out of and builds on the two major curriculum development projects, CAD/CAM in Schools and the Electronics in Schools Strategy. The programme is managed by the Design and Technology Association, supported by other partners.
