CABE 19
1999-2011
This series contains the briefing and supporting material for released research reports, plus unreleased material from projects managed by the Research team. Research was undertaken by all of CABE's departments. CABE commissioned or undertook over 80 research projects exploring a broad range of subjects covering the spectrum of building types (health, schools, housing, public spaces, commercial properties); built environment scales (design codes, master planning, urban spaces, planning processes); and social issues (the value of design, the impact of design on health and wellbeing, the participation of minority ethnic students and practitioners in Architecture, and the funding of built environment research).
This series also contains 'futures thinking' speculative research into the drivers for change in the Built Environment. This consists of 'futures forums' on issues such as supermarkets, the public value of good design, or energy from waste, and research projects for Building Futures an initiative jointly initiated with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The series contains details of over 400 case studies of building and places, and the guidance on writing Built Environment case studies for publications.
