By identifying gaps in the research programme the Research Reference Group devised research strategies both to inform CABE's overall strategic direction and the wider built environment research agenda.
The Group monitored the initiation and progress of research projects, their cost and impact, research quality assurance mechanisms (including the protocols for research procurement, and the research commissioning process), the range of research contractors and research collaborations, CABE's activities as a dissemination partner, and participation in external research advisory boards.
The group monitored the impact of individual projects via research evaluations, assessments of research projects carried out by CABE research managers after completion of each project.
