Two charts: (7) 'Track of, and soundings obtained by H.M.S. Challenger between Sydney and New Zealand, June, 1874': covering the area between 145° and 186°E and between 30° and 45°S; (8) 'Soundings obtained by H.M.S. Challenger off Cook Strait, June, 1874': covering the area between 166° and 167°E and between 38° and 42°S. Both charts are printed copies of charts originally traced by H Swire, Navigating Sub-Lieutenant, and signed by Captain G S Nore, Royal Navy. Dimensions: (7) 26.5 cm x 48 cm; (8) 26.5 cm x 49 cm.
