Description

Memorandum of persons recommended to queen to fill vacant bishoprics of Killaloe and Dromore, upon supposal that bishop of Killaloe will be removed to Raphoe: Sr Tho [Sir Thomas] Vesey, son of John [Vesey], archbishop of Tuam, of very good character and interest in his country with livings of about £300 or £400; [William] Jephson, dean of Lismore, worth about £800; Dr [Benjamin] Pratt, provost of [Trinity] College, Dublin, which is worth between £500 and £600 per annum and has been chaplain to the house of commons for almost 10 years. Dr [John] Travers, minister of large Dublin parish where he has daily officiated has a preferment in collegiate church of Christ Church, Dublin, worth £200 or £300 per annum. Dr Marsh, dean of Kilmore, worth £500 son to late archbishop of Dublin. ff. 197-198
