Description

A letter from Tho [Thomas Lindsay, bishop of] Raphoe to an unnamed recipient [? Jonathan Swift, dean of St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin]: have already received several favours from that great lord, but this last I fear would swell my debt so high that I should never be able to discharge it by any future services. Do not know who has represented me as your enemy, and hope to be able to show contrary. Endorsement notes 'Lord Primate' [i.e. archbishop of Armagh, position to which Lindsay was translated on 4 Jan 1714] [published in Swift correspondence] f. 116
