Description

Address by the Irish house of commons to Charles [Talbot] duke of Shrewsbury, lord lieutenant: loyal and flattering statements, commend Shrewsbury for his part in bringing about, 'the Glorious Revolution in 1688 to which under God, we owe the preservation of our religion, liberties and properties'. Praise is given to his concern for preservation against the great number of papists in Ireland and his declaring royal intention that troops paid by Irish establishment shall be sent and monies given by parliament shall be spent among ourselves and that no public treasure shall be misapplied. Noted as received in Shrewsbury's letter of 1 December. ff. 104-105
