Description

Shrewsbury to Bolingbroke. Noted as received 10 December at Windsor. Parliament continues to proceed with great temper and unanimity. MPs were warned that any alteration to Poynings's Law would not be pleasing in England. Encloses judges' paper answering English attorney-general's report on Dublin elections read in Council yesterday [SP 63/369 ff. 92-5]. Debate described in detail. 'This debate was carried on with unusual heat and passion and personal reflections: and in the debate expressions were let fall by some that this whole matter would be re-examined in both houses of parliament'. Dated at Dublin Castle ff. 78-81
