1 individual petition (Robert Poole, the prisoner's father) and 2 collective petitions (Ann Poole and Robert Poole, the prisoner's parents; 4 people) on behalf of Thomas Poole convicted at the Old Bailey in January 1830 for stealing a tea caddy. Gaoler's report: not known before, ordered to hulks. Grounds for clemency: only 14 years old, employer willing to give him a good character reference but killed in carriage accident before trial, distress of parents if sent out of country, first offence. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Annotated: nil. NO 25
