1 collective petition (John Moffett and Susanah Moffett, the prisoner's parents) on behalf of Elliston Moffett [Ellison Moffett] convicted at Surrey Winter Assizes Kingston upon Thames on 29 December 1829 for stealing a gold chain, bracelets and a gown and veil, property of Thomas Buckley, her master. Grounds for clemency: only 17 years old, first offence, previous good character, honest respectable parents who set a good example, committed crime in moment of weakness on impulse, ran away and later arrested in Portsmouth. Initial sentence: death commuted to life transportation. Annotated: nil. NO 16
