3 individual petitions (2 from the prisoner and Sarah Lloyd, the prisoner's mother) and 3 collective petitions (14 people, 7 people and 16 people from Marylebone, Middlesex) and accompanying letter from Sir James McDonald MP on behalf of David Lloyd, dealer in marine stores, convicted at the Old Bailey in October 1829 for stealing bottles, property of Mr Smith on 29 September last. Gaoler's report: several times in custody before. Grounds for clemency: 2 baskets of bottles found in possession of Connor who claimed had purchased them from prisoner, but prisoner claims took no part in robbery, prisoner did have previous dealings with Connor and brought bottles from him, distress of elderly mother, wife and child totally unsupported, previous good character, first offence, several offers of employment if freed. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Annotated: nil. NO 10
