1 individual petition (prisoner) on behalf of Edward Kingsley, soldier, convicted at Plymouth Quarter Sessions on 18 January 1830 for larceny on 27 October 1829. Gaoler's report: has borne a bad character and has been in custody before on charges of felony. Grounds for clemency: 3 older brothers all served in the army, one died while returning from Africa, prisoner joined when 16 and reached rank of sergeant through merit by age of 21 before committed offence, wants to serve again in army, led into crime by bad company.
