1 individual petition (prisoner) and 1 collective petition (3 people including prosecutor) on behalf of William James, carpenter, convicted at the Old Bailey in December 1829 for burglary against Joseph Delaney at the Red Lion, Windmill Street. Grounds for clemency: first offence, sister totally dependent on him, drunk when committed crime so not aware what he was doing, led astray by others who were the ring leaders. Initial sentence: death commuted to life transportation. NO 2
