Folios 2-32: This disorder having occasioned much fatality and produced a variety of opinions of the nature and treatment of it. Have endeavoured with some pains to obtain an idea of both, from my own observations aided by those of many practitioners with whom I have conferred on this subject, the following remarks are the best my judgement and ability enable me to offer. The disorder appeared first at Jamaica in 1794, being introduced at Port Royal, by the arrival of HMS Intrepid and was occasioned by her receiving on board a number of persons in a sickly state, who had been confined in prison at the Aux Cayes a port belonging to the French in Saint Domingo. Also includes description of the symptoms of the disease and details of its treatment.
