Copy of letters patent under the seal of the county palatine of Lancaster, recording the findings of a quo warranto hearing at the sessions of assize and pleas of the crown held at Lancaster on Monday in the fourth week of Lent, 7 James I, which inquired as to by what warrant William Stanley, Lord Mounteagle, should hold a market and fair in Hornby and Melling, co. Lancaster, and a court of view of frankpledge, sheriffs' tourn, a court of pleas and assizes of bread and ale, and all other his rights, privileges, and customs in the same manors. 4 folios
