Medical journal of HMS Benbow, from 20 January to 19 March 1840 by Ebenezer Robertson, Assistant surgeon in charge, during which time the ship was employed in Vourla Bay.

[Note: ADM 101/89/3, 3A-3B are produced as a single document: order as ADM 101/89/3].

Folio 5: Copy of correspondence regarding the 'plague' in Bairout [Beirut] during 1841, dated 22 June 1842, from Ebenezer Robertson, Assistant Surgeon to Sir William Barnett, Inspector General of Naval Hospital and Fleets.

Folio 7: Topographical sketch of Beyrout [Beirut] and surrounding country, by Major C. Rochfort Scott.

Folios 7-28: Assistant Surgeon's notes on the description of the origin and course of the plague in 1841, including remarks on geography, population and diseases of Bairout [Beirut], and also remarks on the arrival of Ibrahim Pasha and the embarkation of his Troops at Gaza.
