Description (What the record is about)
- This dataset contains information gathered during the English Archival Mapping Project (Phase 2) which took place from 1999 to 2001. This project along with other mapping projects, recorded its questionnaire results onto a spreadsheet for further data analysis. As with related projects, the Phase 2 project requested information about the following key areas of provision: Accommodation and storage; Public access and services; Preservation and conservation; Finding aids and reference services; Information and communications technology; Electronic records; Training and development. The Phase Two project also surveyed English local authority record offices in the additional area of 'external relations and cross-sector working'. During the Phase 2 exercise, particular emphasis was placed upon: information and communications technology; electronic records; external relations and cross-sectoral working; training and development; and deposited public records and out store facilities.The data structure of the tables in this dataset matches the structure of the archival mapping questionnaires issued for this mapping project. The dataset consists of 18 tables.
