Description (What the record is about)
- This dataset contains data which was gathered from the clerks of"rural" parish councils during the first Survey of Rural Services, conducted by the Rural Development Commission in 1991. The 1991 Survey had a"census" date of 21 April 1991: parish clerks were meant to supply information reflecting the situation in their parishes on that date. Most of the fields in the tables for individual counties correspond to questions on the survey questionnaire, i.e. there is a one-to-one correlation between a field and a survey question. This dataset consists of 39 tables. The parish table (Table 39) is a lookup table for parish codes contained in each of the other county tables.
