Medical and surgical journal of HMS Maidstone for 26 March to 25 May 1812 by Henry Osborn, during which time the said ship was employed in cruising.

Folios 1-12: Lieutenant Smith, Royal Marines; sick or hurt, phthisis (invalided from HMS Hibernia for a passage to England); Put on sick list, 26 March 1812, discharged 22 May 1812 to Plymouth hospital.

Folios 1-2: James Thompson, aged 21, seaman; sick or hurt, pneumonia (invalided from HMS Ville De Paris for a passage to England); Put on sick list, 26 March 1812, died 5 April 1812.

Folio 1-1A: Mr Mayhew; sick or hurt, phthisis (invalided from Mahon hospital for a passage to England); Put on sick list, 26 March 1812, died 31 March 1812.

Folios 1-1A: James Robertson; sick or hurt, phthisis (invalided from HMS Ville De Paris for a passage to England); Put on sick list, 26 March 1812, died 2 March 1812.

Folios 1A-12: Daniel Sullivan; sick or hurt, phthisis (invalided from HMS Caledonia for a passage to England); Put on sick list, 1 April 1812, discharged 22 May 1812 to Plymouth hospital.

Folios 2-3: Abraham Smith, aged 25, seaman; sick or hurt, fell from a considerable height on to the gangway striking left side of the head; Put on sick list, 6 April 1812 at sea, discharged 11 April 1812 to Gibraltar hospital.

Folios 3-4: Mr McMahon, aged 14, volunteer; sick or hurt, [?]; Put on sick list, 12 April 1812, discharged 15 April 1812 to duty.

Folios 3-9: John Duffy; sick or hurt, invalided from HMS Kent with pain in the breast for a passage to England; Put on sick list, 8 April 1812, died 6 May 1812.

Folios 4-5: John [Ellisher?], aged 22, seaman; sick or hurt, headache and nausea; Put on sick list, 14 March [April?] 1812, discharged 19 April 1812.

Folio 5: Mr Sedgwick, aged 40, gunner; sick or hurt, headache and sore throat and pain in the limbs; Put on sick list, 17 April 1812 at sea, discharged 20 April 1812.

Folios 6-9: Michael McLaughlin, aged 39, seaman; sick or hurt, intermittens fever; Put on sick list, 25 April 1812 at sea, discharged 8 May 1812 to duty.

Folios 7-12: William Cruickmay (invalided from HMS Swiftsure); sick or hurt, troublesome cough and pain in the breast; Put on sick list, 25 April 1812 at sea, discharged 22 May 1812 to Plymouth hospital.

Folios 8-10: Mr Donellan, aged 25, 2nd Lieutenant; sick or hurt, inflammed tonsils; Put on sick list, 2 May 1812 at sea, discharged 10 May 1812 to duty.

Folios 5-12: G Henderson, aged 32, gunner's mate; sick or hurt, while intoxicated fell and dislocated his clavicle; Put on sick list, 17 April 1812 at sea, discharged

Folios 5-12: John Fletcher, aged 48, seaman; sick or hurt, shattered phalanx of the ring and little finger of the right hand; Put on sick list, 19 April 1812 at sea, discharged

Folios 10-12: John Murphy, aged 21, seaman; sick or hurt, pain in left side; Put on sick list, 13 May 1812 at sea, discharged.
