This series contains files of the Ministry of Health continued in the Ministry of National Insurance and the Ministry of Pensions and National Insurance relating to the administration of national health insurance, contributory old age, widows' and orphans' pensions, and national insurance.
A few files relate to the administration of, and appeals under, the non-contributory old age pensions scheme.
The series also contains incomplete sets of statements, meetings, agenda and minutes of evidence of the Royal Commission on National Health Insurance 1924-1925, and minutes of meetings of a sub-committee of the National Health Insurance Joint Committee in 1930.
