Ernest Martin Fritz VEITHARDT: German/American/British. VEITHARDT was born in the UK of naturalized British parents living abroad. In 1940 he fled from Belgium to the UK and enlisted in the British Army from which he deserted in 1943. Under questioning after arrest, and later, he claimed to have been approached in Brussels by German and Belgian intelligence agents. He was interned under Defence Regulation 18b from 1943 to 1945
