Folio 4: Abstract of the preceding journal, being a summary of all the cases contained therein, nosologically arranged.

Folio 5: Surgeon's general remarks. The fine weather during the voyage meant there were very few cases of illness. Most suffered sea sickness, there were some slight catarrhal cases and rheumatism afterwards. At around the latitude of Madeira, the southerly winds affected the general health, producing rheumatism with general depression, languor and debility. Mr Mouchett, the Commissioner's Secretary at Bermuda, travelling as a passenger, suffered badly from rheumatism. Many prisoners suffered headaches and giddiness on getting into warm weather, 'the abstraction of from 20 to 30 ounces of blood followed by a brisk cathartic, never failed to relieve the symptoms'. All 50 prisoners were in good health when embarked at Portsmouth. Signed, John J Lancaster, Acting Surgeon and Superintendent.
