Printed appeal cases being the record set maintained by the registrar of ecclesiastical and Admiralty causes of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. Each case comprises three documents: the case for the appellant, the case for the respondent, and an appendix.
The cases of the appellant and respondent summarise the proceedings before the lower court from whose sentence appeal was made, and the initial proceedings before the Judicial Committee, and they appeal to the members of the Committee either to pronounce for the appeal or to pronounce against it, sometimes supported by arguments. The appendix supplies the text of proceedings in the lower court, including acts and instruments of the court, affidavits of the parties to the cause, depositions of witnesses, and exhibits, including the texts of such documents as disputed wills.
At the end of the documents for each cause there is a manuscript note stating whether or not the appeal was allowed. Orders of the Judicial Committee in particular causes were also interleaved between the printed sheets.
Many of the documents in the appendixes are the same as those in the processes in PCAP 1
