Description

The series consists of reports, on the alignment of doubtful or disputed public boundaries, originating either from the Ordnance Survey Boundaries Branch (reports bear Headquarters numbers) or from the field surveyor (reports bear field division numbers). They relate to such points as the positioning of boundaries on basic scale documents, difficulties over specific parts of a boundary or in construing an Act or Order, or reporting on the action taken. The series includes reports on English, Welsh and Scottish boundaries.

Some of the reports contain reference to boundaries in different parts of the country, not related to each other. This is because the compiler combined queries in the same folder which were addressed to the one person.
