CANADA 3. British Columbia scenery and buildings: photographs, 1867-1868 by Frederick Dally. The album also includes photographs of 'Indian' [First Nations] inhabitants of the region.
The following papers are filed with the album:
- A copy of the receipt showing the purchase of the album by the Colonial Office from Dally in April 1870;
- A copy of CO 60/38, f 322;
- A copy of a list of the photographs in the album, prepared by Joan Schwartz, then Photographs Archivist at the Public Archives of Canada, in October 1979;
- A copy of a letter from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Library to Ms Schwartz, dated 11 March 1980, thanking her for sending the other papers to the Library.

During conservation work in 2005, the album was disbound and the pages are now loose. At some point the pages were numbered out of sequence; however, their physical order now reflects their original sequence within the album. The accompanying list of the photographs also reflects this original order.
