9 Edw II, Quindene of Trinity, Norfolk-Gloucestershire, part 1. All on thong, and top of file intact and undamaged, but earlier part is damaged and cover missing. This appears to be the earliest certain example of a file for a return day for which there are two files, one like this running as far as Gloucestershire, and another (not extant in this case) beginning again with Oxfordshire and going on to the end of the county sequence. The file for the preceeding return day, the Octave of Trinity 9 Edw II (CP 52/2/9/4/1/1), is similar and is probably the first, but this is uncertain because there are no end stops and the thong has been tied off at both ends.
