Attempted sabotage on BOAC Liberator AM 262. This file covers the investigation of what was at first reported as an attempt to assassinate the wartime Polish General Sikorski by means of an incendiary device aboard a British aircraft taking him to Canada in 1942. The conclusion of the investigation was that there had been no such attempt and that the device had been taken on board General Sikorski's plane by one of his accompanying Polish officers, who eventually admitted that he had been given it as a souvenir and kept it in his gasmask
