6 items, numbered 24-26, 28, 30 and 33: part of a Topographical Survey of part of northern France, laid out in ten sheets (see the index map in WO 78/1035/1). The immediate environs of certain fortified towns have been left blank because the officers conducting the survey were not permitted to enter these areas.
Sheet 6: (24-26) three copies of a map of the area between Menen (or Menin; now in Belgium), Saint-Amand-les-Eaux and Lens, each on two joined sheets. Scale bar in miles, on item (26) only. All unsigned.
Sheet 8: (28, 30) two copies of a map of the area between Lens, Douai, Bapaume and Pas-en-Artois; item (28) on five (irregular) joined sheets and item (30) on two joined sheets. Scale not shown. Item (28) by Lieutenant J Horton; item (30) unsigned.
