By letters patent under the great seal of the Court of Augmentations 28 Jul 35 Hen VIII [1543], the manor of Chevenhall, otherwise Chepenhall [Chipenhall in Fressingfield], Suffolk, (late of the monastery of Bury St Edmunds [Bury St Edmunds Abbey], Suffolk), and all messuages, etc, belonging thereto, extended at a value of £24, were granted to Susan Clarencyeulx, for life.
For £2,198 19s 5d paid by Anthony Rous, esq, to the treasurer of the Court of Augmentations, grant of the manor of Chipenhall, the manor of Soham Monachorum [Monk Soham], Suffolk, (also late of the same monastery), the advowson of Monk Soham church, the manor of Southolt, Suff, (late of the monastery of St John of Colchester [Colchester Abbey], Essex), 2 crofts, 20 acres, 1 pightle of land called Smythes Croft, 2 acres in Southolt, a close of pasture, 32 acres, a close called Meteyard and a pightle of land adjoining, 5 acres in Southolt, a close of land, 34 acre in Southolt, a close of land and pasture, 9 acres and a lane adjoining and 1 pightle of land, 3 acres in Southolt, the manor of Soterton, otherwise Southerton [Sotherton], Suffolk, (late of the monastery of Ely [Ely Cathedral Priory], Cambridgeshire), and the advowson of Sotherton church, the manor of Hengam [Henham], Suffolk, (late parcel of the lands of Charles [Brandon], duke of Suffolk, by king purchased of him), and a park in Henham, a wood called les Meuses in Myddelton Groves, 23 acres wood and lands called Skayes Cippoes, 1 acre of land in Henham, the rectory and church of Badeley [Badley], (late of Battisforth [Battisford] Preceptory, Suffolk), and the advowson of Badley church and all messuages, etc, in Chipenhall, Fresingfelde [Fressingfield], Monk Soham, Southolt, Sotherton, Badley, Henham, Blyboroughe [Blythburgh], Wangford, Brampton, Downewiche [Dunwich] and Stoven, Suffolk.
