Transcript of letters patent granting office to Thomas Hanbury, gent.
Francis Sowthwell, John Thompson, Thomas Neale, William Fuller, William Neale, Robert Multon and Henry Dynne, are auditors of the Exchequer, each for life and each has his several letters patent as one of the seven auditors of the Exchequer.
By letters patent under the great seal 5 Nov 5 & 6 Phil & Mary [1558], Philip and Mary granted to Anthony Rowe the office of one of the seven auditors of the Exchequer, after the death of Francis Sowthwell.
By letters patent under the great seal 8 Sep 19 Eliz [1577], Elizabeth I granted to William Spencer the office of one of the seven auditors, on vacancy.
Now, after the deaths of Francis Sowthwell, John Thompson, Thomas Neale, William Fuller, William Neale, Robert Multon, Henry Dynne, Anthony Rowe and William Spencer, grant to Thomas Hanbury, gent, the office of one of the seven auditors, for life, at £20 a year.
