Paul Wilhelm MASSING and Hedwig MASSING: German/American. The MASSINGs were communists in Germany in the 1920s. During the 1930s they worked for Soviet Intelligence in New York and elsewhere. In 1938 they became disillusioned with the Soviet Union and broke off contact. In 1950 Hede MASSING published the story of her links with the Soviets
