Much of the liaison was conducted by Warrant Officer Swanborough (later commissioned as Flying Officer and eventually reaching the rank of Squadron leader), Officer Commanding (OC) of the RAF intercept station at Waddington, Lincolnshire. In 1938 he handed liaison over to J E S Cooper of GC&CS
