David A PETROVSKIY, aliases David BENNETT, Max DAVID, Marcus GOLDFARB, Max PETROVSKIY: Russian. PETROVSKIY, who was never fully identified, was Comintern representative to the UK during the late 1920s. He was almost certainly identical with the PETROVSKIY who until August 1928 held the post of head of the Anglo-American section of the Comintern. In the UK he met, and subsequently married in Moscow, Rose COHEN who was employed by the Soviet espionage organisation, the Federated Press of America. PETROVSKIY was arrested and shot during the Stalin purges and his wife sent to Siberia where she disappeared
