This series is comprised of papers of the Rates and Charges Division relating to railway, roads, docks, canals etc., charges for passenger and goods traffic levied by local authority and various transport undertakings, including the British Transport Commission from 1948 to 1962.
There are also papers relating to inland transport charges generally, together with minutes of meetings and other papers of the Government Traffic (Railway Charges and Dock Charges) Committees, the Charges (Vigilance) Committee and the Working Party on Transport Charges.
Very little material is earlier in date than 1939.
