Martin Paul Walter MAYWALD, alias HERMANNS, HEYMANN, MEINERT: German. Though this file is in the name of MAYWALD, an SD officer stationed in Spain from 1943 onwards, most of the papers on it deal with Peggy Patricia HARGRAVE, MAYWALD's wife, who went with him to Germany before the Second World War and eventually married him. In spite of this and the suggestion that she might be a renegade, she attracted no censure from the British and in 1945 was employed for a time by the Military Government in Berlin
