Josev ASTNER, alias ARNOLD, BACHMANN: German. Born in the Tyrol, ASTNER, a former student for the priesthood, served in the Italian army in Abyssinia in the 1930's. During the Second World War he served in the Abwehr, principally as a senior recruiter and training officer, first in South-West France and later in Germany
