Description

1 item extracted from SP 16/339 (number 2). 'Description de tous les orders militaires ... 1636'. Broadside containing engraved representations of the insignia of all the military orders of knighthood which have been approved throughout Christendom, with the names, devices, collars and times of institution of each order, with the addition of the 'poeces of honour' which are carried at the obsequies of princes and lords. Underneath these engravings is printed a brief summary of the occasions which moved great kings and princes to institute the ordsers in question. Printed by J Boisseau and Alexander de Mewes.
